I apologise for the lack of posts on this blog in recent months. Here are three brief news updates:
1. There will be a Pairing 2012 conference. It will be held in Cologne, Germany on May 16-18, 2012. The paper submission date will be January 30, 2012. The proceedings will be published after the conference. More details will be advertised here once they are decided.
2. INDOCRYPT 2011, PQCrypto 2011 and ASIACRYPT 2011 are all taking place around this time. You can find the accepted papers on the web. There are some interesting papers at each of them. In particular I list the following:
Pierrick Gaudry, David Kohel and Benjamin Smith. Counting points on genus 2 curves with real multiplication.
David Jao and Luca De Feo. Towards quantum-resistant cryptosystems from supersingular elliptic curve isogenies.
Craig Costello, Kristin Lauter and Michael Naehrig. Attractive subfamilies of BLS curves for implementing high-security pairings.
Robert Dryło. On constructing families of pairing-friendly elliptic curves with variable discriminant.
3. I just uploaded a revised version of my book “The Mathematics of Public Key Cryptography”. The files can be found here:
This book will be published by Cambridge University Press in early 2012. When that happens, most of the pdf files will be removed from the webpage.
